Privacy Policy

LongGame ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account information — When you sign up via Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or a passwordless email link, we receive your name and email address from those providers.
• Date of birth — You provide your date of birth during onboarding so we can calculate your lifespan projection. We store this securely in your Firestore profile.
• Declared lifespan — You select an expected lifespan age. This is stored alongside your date of birth to power the countdown timer.
• Day profile — You optionally configure how many hours you sleep, commute, work, and spend on routines. This is used to calculate your "usable hours" figure.
• Projects and time entries — You create projects and log time sessions, including activity notes and sentiment ratings.
• AI-entered text — When you use the AI logging or project creation features, the text you type is sent to our backend for processing.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage analytics — We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised events such as screen views, sign-in method, onboarding steps completed, project types created, and AI feature usage. No free-text content is ever included in analytics events.
• Crash reports — We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and stack traces automatically if the App crashes. These include device model, OS version, and the state of the app at the time of the crash.
• Device identifier — We generate and store a unique random device ID in your local preferences to enforce the three-device limit per account.
• IP address — Our backend API servers may log your IP address in standard access logs for security and abuse prevention.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect precise GPS location.
• We do not record your camera or microphone.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the App — Authenticate you, display your lifespan countdown, store your projects and time entries, and sync data across your devices.
• Personalise your experience — Remember your preferred countdown metric (sunrises, waking days, waking hours), Pomodoro settings, and notification preferences.
• Power AI features — When you use the AI-assisted log entry or project creation, the text you submit is sent to our backend API, which calls a third-party AI model to parse and structure the data. We do not use this text to train AI models.
• Send notifications — If you enable notifications, we use the notification settings you configure to schedule daily reflections and reminders on-device.
• Improve the App — Analyse aggregated, anonymised usage data to understand how features are used and to fix bugs.
• Ensure security — Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.

4. Data Retention

• Account data — Retained until you delete your account.
• Time entries and projects — Retained until you delete them or delete your account.
• Analytics events — Retained by Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months (their default).
• Crash reports — Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
• Local preferences — Stored on your device and cleared when you sign out or delete the app.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Firebase's built-in encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
• Firebase Authentication for all API calls — your Firestore data is protected by Firebase Security Rules that only permit access to your own documents.
• The three-device limit prevents unauthorised use of your account from unknown devices.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

LongGame is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Delete your account and all associated data — available directly in the App under Settings → Delete account.
• Port your data — contact us to request an export.
• Withdraw consent — you can sign out at any time under Settings → Sign out.
• Opt out of analytics — contact us to request analytics opt-out.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with:

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
