Terms of Service

Welcome to LongGame. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using our mobile application ("App"). By creating an account or using the App you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LongGame you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA);
• You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy;
• If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of the Service

LongGame is a personal time-awareness and project-tracking mobile application. It allows you to:

• Calculate and visualise a countdown of your estimated remaining lifetime;
• Create and manage personal projects with time commitments;
• Log time sessions against projects, with sentiment ratings and notes;
• Set daily and project-level notifications and reminders;
• Use AI-assisted features to parse natural-language activity logs and project descriptions;
• Review weekly progress reports and AI-generated audits of your time usage.

The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use only unless you have obtained a separate commercial licence from us.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You may use the App on up to three (3) devices simultaneously. We reserve the right to revoke access from additional devices.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the App;
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the App's servers or infrastructure;
• Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions;
• Create multiple accounts to evade a device or account ban;
• Submit content (e.g. via AI features) that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights;
• Use the App to collect data about other users without their consent.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and trademarks in or relating to LongGame are the exclusive property of LongGame and its licensors.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for its intended personal purpose in accordance with these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the LongGame name, logo, or other brand identifiers without our prior written consent.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any data you submit to the App (projects, time entries, notes). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, worldwide licence to store, process, and display that content for the sole purpose of providing and improving the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of any content you submit.

7. AI Features

Certain features use artificial intelligence to parse your natural language input. You acknowledge that:

• AI outputs are approximate and may be inaccurate. Always review parsed results before saving.
• You remain responsible for reviewing and confirming all AI-generated time entries, project structures, and audit results.
• AI feature availability may change, and features may be modified or withdrawn at any time.

8. Lifespan Countdown Disclaimer

The lifespan countdown displayed in the App is a mathematical estimate based on the life expectancy age you declare. It is not a medical, scientific, or actuarial prediction of your actual lifespan. The App is designed as a tool for personal reflection and time management — not as a health, medical, or end-of-life planning tool. If you are experiencing distress related to mortality, please seek support from a qualified health professional.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, and Apple Sign-In. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service provider.

10. Pricing and Free Access

The App is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future. We will provide reasonable notice before any such changes take effect.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
• Any defects will be corrected;
• The App or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LongGame and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LongGame and its personnel from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your breach of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time under Settings → Delete account.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
